William Richard Alpert, 59, Richardton, passed away unexpectedly in his home on March 23, 2019, with his little dog, Willie, by his side. A Gathering of Family & Friends will be 2 p.m. to 3 pm. on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Ladbury Funeral Service.

William Richard Alpert was born September 15, 1959, the youngest of four children, to William A. and Agnes (Rebel) Alpert. He was raised on the family farm south of Richardton. Sometime in his childhood, something happened with his hearing. We heard words, he heard roaring. He therefore, tended to avoid crowds. He lettered in band and could play beautiful songs on the piano. He could feel vibrations of the notes. School was a struggle, especially English; but he graduated the class of 1977 from Richardton High School.

William worked at Baker Boy in Dickinson and Mandan. He also had a herd of goats and sold goat milk. He worked on the farm for many years helping Mom and Dad. He was an excellent cook and baker, hed make full meals and take them to friends, then spend the day visiting one-on-one. His homemade bread was great. We teased him that is was almost good as moms.

William enjoyed camping and fishing. He and his friends made several trips to Washington State. They hiked and camped in the mountains and fished the mountain streams.

William was preceded in death by his parents, William and Agnes; grandparents; brother-in-law, Bob Bryant; nephew, Stacy Bryant; and many aunts, uncles and some cousins.

He leaves his siblings,, Linda (Richard) Schell, Lesley (Sarah) Alpert and Lois Bryant; nieces and nephews, Sonya (Dave) Armbrust, Keith Rummel, Bobby (Brooke) Bryant and Nicole (Corey) Heringer; great-nieces and nephews, Jonathan, Danielle, Ciera, Tanner and Elizabeth; and one great-great-nephew, Kason; some aunts and uncles and many cousins; and friends, Cary, Greg, Bill and their families.

Thank you William, for all the great-afternoon talks, the homemade buns, breads and cookies, but mostly for your love and friendship. Until we meet again, baby brother, we love you. Enjoy that homemade ice cream with Aunt Isabelle and give Mom and Dad a hug from us.

Gathering of Family & Friends at Ladbury Funeral Service Tuesday, June 04, 2019 2 P.M. to 3 P.M.
